Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account and using WhatISpend, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.
Description of Service
WhatISpend is a personal expense tracking application that allows you to:
- Record income and expenses
- Organise transactions with custom categories
- Generate monthly reports and summaries
- Export data to Excel
- Send expense summaries via email
User Accounts
Account Creation: You must sign in with a valid Google account to use WhatISpend. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
Account Responsibility: You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Please keep your account credentials secure.
Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when using the service
- Use the service only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
- Not use the service to transmit harmful code or malware
- Not attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the application
Intellectual Property
Your Data: You retain all rights to the financial data you enter into WhatISpend. We do not claim ownership of your data.
Our Service: The WhatISpend application, including its design, code, and features, is owned by the service provider and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Service Availability
We strive to keep WhatISpend available and functioning smoothly. However:
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
- We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service with reasonable notice
Limitation of Liability
WhatISpend is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we take reasonable measures to keep your data secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the service at your own risk. We are not liable for:
- Loss of data due to technical issues
- Inaccuracies in calculations or reports
- Financial decisions made based on data in the app
- Unauthorised access to your account
You should maintain your own backups of important financial data.
Data Backup
While we perform regular backups, you are responsible for maintaining your own copies of important data. You can export your data at any time via Settings → Data Export.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these terms. You may also terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the app settings.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
